Job Title: Release Operations Manager

Farrow Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Release Operations Manager to oversee and manage the Air and Ocean department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective processing of client entries, developing and monitoring department procedures, and identifying staffing resources to meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct staff members, including preparing and updating standard operating procedures, monitoring and completing performance reviews, and reviewing and approving attendance.
  • Review data summary reports, unprocessed entries, and other reports on a daily basis, and regulate workflow and overtime to ensure all entries are completed on time and with quality control.
  • Attend meetings with other department managers to review overall progress and gauge efficiency of procedures, and manage follow-up with appropriate adjustments.
  • Review operational targets to ensure progress is made in regards to goals communicated by the corporate strategic plan and budgets.
  • Respond to client inquiries, review service issues, and find solutions, and may act as the main client service representative for certain accounts.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain processes and procedures to ensure the highest possible quality of service in release, trade compliance, and import reporting, and identify client needs and develop solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on procedures and complex problems, and keep abreast of industry changes and advise staff and clients of relevant changes.
  • Assist with rating, trade compliance, and release, and perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or related experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business, international trade, or related fields preferred.
  • Customs Brokers License (preferred) or Certified Customs Specialist in good standing.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the transportation, customs, or related fields is required.
  • At least 3 years management/supervisory experience.

  • Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements:
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with no supervision.
  • High level of accuracy is required when checking information, adding figures, and reconciling documents.
  • Concentration is required in balancing several tasks at one time.
  • Must contend with sensitive, frustrating, and confidential situations, time pressures, and frequent interruptions that can lead to a high level of stress.
  • Must be able to resolve personnel and workflow issues in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • May be required to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Concentration, alertness, and attention are required while driving in a variety of road conditions and locations and for obeyance of driving rules when traveling.
