Position Summary

We are seeking dynamic, imaginative, and enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructors to join the Equinox team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to make a significant impact within a thriving and innovative organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise participants in a structured instructional setting.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to each member and prospective member.
  • Adhere to class descriptions and adjust intensity levels for participants as needed.
  • Continuously assess exercise intensity throughout the class duration.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ensure classes commence and conclude punctually.
  • Communicate effectively with the Group Fitness Manager regarding member feedback, equipment status, scheduling, and substitutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current Group Exercise Leader Certification (ACE, AFAA, ECITS, ACSM accepted) or a degree/certification in a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching fitness classes to adult clientele in a fitness club setting.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Knowledgeable in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and exercise modifications for diverse populations.
  • Eager to pursue ongoing professional development and education.
  • Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing personality.
  • Proficient in computer use and effective communication via email and phone.
Physical Requirements
  • High energy level and ability to endure workouts.
  • Capability to perform essential physical tasks, including standing, sitting, running, walking, jumping, squatting, bending, and reaching, as well as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
