Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Project Engineer to join our team in the Vehicle Systems Division. As a key member of our Structural Dynamics and Environments Department, you will provide technical expertise in the field of dynamic environments and environmental test to support the Missile Defense Agency and other customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for SMC-S-016 and other military test standards
  • Participate in requirements tailoring and implementation, assessing system design options and performance tradeoffs
  • Provide technical assessments of acoustics, shock, and vibration analysis, test requirements, and data results
  • Support development, qualification, and acceptance testing of units and payloads
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective test planning and execution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, such as mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of industry-related experience in structural mechanics engineering
  • Strong technical leadership skills and familiarity with analytical and test techniques for shock, vibration, and acoustics environments
  • Experience with applying, editing, tailoring, and maintaining shock, vibration, and acoustics environmental standards
  • Ability to build and lead interdisciplinary teams and foster effective interpersonal relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a STEM field or related discipline
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency customer programs
  • Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and other military test standards
  • Current and active Secret security clearance
