Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Material Planner plays a crucial role in facilitating efficient operations across multiple facilities by overseeing vendor networks and inventory management systems.

This role involves utilizing demand forecasts to establish, monitor, and manage purchase orders, ensuring the timely procurement of packaging materials and ingredients.

Additionally, the Supply Chain Material Planner is tasked with configuring vendor qualifications within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing inventory levels, conducting cost analyses, preparing management presentations, evaluating vendors, and soliciting quotes from potential partners to optimize supply chain processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage vendor relationships, addressing performance issues and ensuring mutual success.
  • Negotiate vendor agreements and purchase orders, reviewing necessary documentation prior to procurement.
  • Maintain project files and cost savings spreadsheets, ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations for forecasting, performance metrics, and cost savings.
  • Facilitate communication between facilities to ensure relevant information is effectively shared.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, representing the department as needed.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve vendor-related issues.
  • Issue purchase orders as required for operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provide support in the absence of administrative personnel or other planners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain and logistics processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in demand forecasting and production planning.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and data management skills.
  • Ability to identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Project management experience with a proven track record of guiding processes to completion.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, such as SAP.

Education & Experience:
A degree in Business, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.

Work Environment:
This position involves both office and plant environments, with potential exposure to varying conditions such as temperature fluctuations and noise levels.

Physical demands may include standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
