Job Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care
    • Perform comprehensive physical examinations on patients, including review of patient medical data, such as health history
    • Order, administer, and interpret test results for diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests
    • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and managing infection
    • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
    • Impact patient experiences by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy
    • Assess and provide age-appropriate care to patients
  • Team Support
    • Share accountability for overall patient health outcomes, working in coordination with care teams
    • Operate to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders
    • Respond promptly and with caring actions to patients and employees
    • Maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the public
    • Cooperate in accomplishing communicated department goals and objectives
  • Clinical Administration
    • Develop and implement patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care
    • Perform in accordance with NHC practice protocols and under the guidance and supervision of the supervising MD(s), according to the terms of the Supervisory Agreement
    • Keep informed of organizational activities and promote mission and goals
    • Function at highest level according to credentials and competency
    Requirements
    • Master's degree from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program required
    • Valid CA Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certification required
    • Valid CA DEA license required
    • Valid BLS certification from approved American Health Association provider required upon hire
    Additional Qualifications
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
    • Knowledgeable about and experience with providing direct care to patients
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Excellent planning and organizational ability
    • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
    • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    Compliance
    • Follow all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare's Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediately
    • Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices
    • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
    • Use appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment
    • Be familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits
    • Follow all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocols
    • Maintain privacy of all patient, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposes
    • Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations
    • Report all behavior and/or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful
    Compensation

The salary range for this position is $147k to $199k per year, depending on experience.
