Job Summary:

The Corporate Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting with the processing of weekly multi-state, multi-union payroll for approximately 2500 employees. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process employee paperwork and enter payroll data into the ERP system.
  • Process weekly payroll, direct deposits, and submit benefits files to vendors.
  • Ensure timely tax payments and tax reporting through W-2s.
  • Certify payroll and prevailing wage reporting.
  • Maintain payroll system setup and calculations.
  • Process wage garnishments and research issues.
  • Complete employment verifications and assist with entering employee timesheets for field crew.
  • Assist with audits and compile monthly union reporting and other reports as needed.
  • Complete testing for software upgrades and special projects as requested.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • One to three years of payroll processing experience, multi-state/multi-union experience preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll procedures and knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements, payroll taxes, and taxation of wages and benefits deductions.
  • Experience with payroll systems, UKG Pro/Dimensions a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Current working knowledge of state and federal tax regulations and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with minimal risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Minimal risk of safety precautions.
