Job Summary:
The Corporate Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting with the processing of weekly multi-state, multi-union payroll for approximately 2500 employees. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process employee paperwork and enter payroll data into the ERP system.
- Process weekly payroll, direct deposits, and submit benefits files to vendors.
- Ensure timely tax payments and tax reporting through W-2s.
- Certify payroll and prevailing wage reporting.
- Maintain payroll system setup and calculations.
- Process wage garnishments and research issues.
- Complete employment verifications and assist with entering employee timesheets for field crew.
- Assist with audits and compile monthly union reporting and other reports as needed.
- Complete testing for software upgrades and special projects as requested.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
- One to three years of payroll processing experience, multi-state/multi-union experience preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures and knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements, payroll taxes, and taxation of wages and benefits deductions.
- Experience with payroll systems, UKG Pro/Dimensions a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Current working knowledge of state and federal tax regulations and basic accounting principles.
- Strong customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- General office environment with minimal risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Minimal risk of safety precautions.
