Competitive Payroll Specialist for Albany Hospitality Firm

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at BBL Hospitality in Albany, NY. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $29.00 - $33.00 per hour based on experience.

About the Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly multi-company, multi-state payroll in accordance with all applicable Federal and State laws and Collective Bargaining Agreements. You will also reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger, resolve discrepancies, and prepare tax deposits and reporting to various tax agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing: Process weekly and bi-weekly multi-company, multi-state payroll in accordance with all applicable Federal and State laws and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger; resolve discrepancies.

Timeliness/Accuracy: Responsible for timely and accurate entries of all employee changes (new hires, terminations, deductions, etc.).

Preparation: Prepare tax deposits and reporting to various tax agencies.

Year-End: Assist in year-end payroll processes.

Auditing: Assist in union audits.

Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly union filings.

Collaboration: Interact with others in a professional manner via in-person or on-the-phone communication.

Requirements

Confidentiality: Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

Experience: 2 years of payroll experience preferred.

Communication & Interpersonal Abilities: Strong communication & interpersonal abilities.

Organization: Must be detail-oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills.

Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Leadership & Teamwork: Possess leadership & teamwork skills.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Sage 300 Timberline (preferred). Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel and the MS office suite.
