A Day in the Life of a Banfield Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in providing exceptional service to clients and pets at Banfield Pet Hospital. This dynamic individual will utilize their technical skills to ensure a seamless experience for all, adhering to state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a smooth patient flow
  • Communicating effectively with veterinarians and veterinary technicians
  • Performing procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance
  • Ensuring hospital standards are met, keeping pets safe and treatment areas clean and organized
  • Educating clients on Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care
  • Mentoring other hospital team members
