Security Systems Installer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Security Systems Installer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to solve complicated problems during installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Securely configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways on customer's network.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
• Set up virtual LANs to separate traffic into smaller, more manageable units.
• Provide desktop support for customers and JCI, involving installation and configuration of software and hardware, remote monitoring and programming of various systems, and maintenance and solving of both software and hardware.
• Configure servers and workstations and domain credentials, IP address, and remote desktop.
• Perform system checks for proper operation.
• Knowledge of computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, paying close attention to details.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining coordinated working relationships.
• Ability to analyze information.
• Ability to work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and be self-motivated to complete jobs.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
• Conduct end-user training.
• Ability to isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED with Associate Degree or 2-year technical school program graduate preferred.
• Industry-recognized apprentice training program may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
• Significant background (min 3 years experience) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• Significant background (min 3 years experience) in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (min 2 years).
• Must be computer literate, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.
