Job Description

The Security System Installation Specialist will assist in the installation of security systems. You will install cameras, access control, and burglary devices, run wire, and perform basic construction needs. Other duties include construction rough ins, patching and painting, project prep and clean up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans
  • Coordinates with the Lead/Foreman of the project to ensure the successful installation of project components
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, positioning and terminating cables, wires, or strapping
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components
  • Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices
  • Basic understanding and operation of hand tools needed, such as cutters, meters, drills, saws, and screwdrivers
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Requirements:

  • 0-2+ years in construction and/or low voltage installation
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime (if needed)

TRL Systems, Inc. conducts pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations. In addition to having many clients (hospitals, schools, etc.) who require background checks, as a federal contractor TRL is also required to complete a background check for any employee who may work on a federal contract in any capacity. For any position that drives a Company vehicle, our insurance carrier requires criteria to be met and therefore will be a condition of employment.

Work Environment:

  • Repetitive substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Walk, drive, bend, stoop, hear, and speak
  • Move/transport/install/remove items weighing 50+ pounds
  • Drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day
  • You may work at extreme heights occasionally, and an indoor environment under all temperature variations. Confined spaces may occasionally be required.
  • Work is performed on construction sites, in commercial buildings, high rise buildings, and/or hospitals with patient contact.
