Project Manager Job Description

IA Interior Architects is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Seattle studio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage small to medium-sized projects, including work performed by internal and external resources
  • Coordinate engineering work to ensure compliance with design concepts
  • Lead project teams to ensure timely completion of documents
  • Collaborate with design and technical teams to shape and understand design concepts
  • Present and gain approval of concepts to clients
  • Establish and ensure adherence to set budgets
  • Monitor and address potential variances to budgets, informing senior management and clients as necessary
  • Manage collections for assigned projects, communicating with clients to secure timely payments
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Assign tasks, oversee work, and provide feedback to staff assigned to projects
  • Develop skills of staff for future projects
  • Manage overall client relationships from initial assessment to final delivery, ensuring positive relationships and potential for additional business or referrals

Requirements:

  • Graduate of architecture, design, or business school (equivalent experience may be substituted)
  • 8+ years' experience producing design projects

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of materials, furnishings, and construction methods related to interior architecture
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
  • Proven ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants, and contractors
  • Proven ability to solve contract and administration issues within established design contexts
  • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  • Intermediate Revit skills
  • Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise
