Job Summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist in a correctional facility setting. As a key member of our team, you will provide mental health services to inmates, including assessments, treatment planning, and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice
  • Provide crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews with mentally ill inmates
  • Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional health care personnel on complex cases
  • Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings
  • Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes
  • Apply community standard of practices for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in a correctional facility setting
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
