We provide over 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk counties, offering a range of career opportunities for motivated individuals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in becoming self-sufficient and self-actualized.

Responsibilities:

  • Help individuals achieve their personal goals
  • Provide structure and emotional support
  • Assist in resolving behavioral issues
  • Support with personal hygiene needs
  • Complete accurate documentation
  • Transport individuals to medical appointments and recreation activities using Agency vehicles

Requirements:

  • A clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population is preferred, but training will be provided; Cooking and light housekeeping may be required
  • Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide, or Companion experience is a plus

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $$$40,000-$50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, and a variety of shift options, including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Apply online at www.acld.org. An EOE m/f/d/v.
