The Field Operations Lead will oversee on-site teams of 2-6 technicians engaged in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of smart locking mechanisms at commercial retail locations. This position demands a proven track record in project leadership, a solid grasp of smart technology, exceptional customer service abilities, and the capacity to operate independently in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Organize, supervise, and guide teams of 2-5 technicians in the installation of security devices at retail outlets. Act as a technical expert, ensuring adherence to guidelines, timely completion of tasks, and maintaining professionalism. Conduct training sessions for installation personnel.
  • Device Installation: Execute the installation of smart locking devices at retail sites, ensuring seamless functionality and integration with existing systems.
  • System Configuration: Set up and configure smart locks, including connections to Wi-Fi networks and mobile applications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to smart lock installations, providing on-site support as necessary.
  • Client Interaction: Deliver clear instructions and demonstrations to technicians on the installation and configuration of smart lock systems, ensuring their confidence in performing tasks.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and software updates on installed devices to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of installations, configurations, and customer interactions for reporting purposes.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols during installations to protect both the technician and the client.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel is necessary over 50% of the time within the U.S., with stays ranging from 2 to 7 days or longer.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience managing IT project teams or installation teams in a retail environment is essential. Experience with smart home device installations, particularly smart locks, is preferred. Background in electrical work or carpentry is advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of smart device technology, including Wi-Fi networks and mobile applications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site and provide effective solutions.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on resolving issues proactively in a retail setting.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in installation and configuration to ensure the proper operation and security of smart lock systems.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift and transport equipment and perform installations in various settings.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
