Job Description

As a Retail Furniture Sales Consultant at Haverty Furniture Companies, Inc., you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and driving sales growth. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in finding the perfect furniture solutions for their homes, while also meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative design assistance to customers to help them create a warm and inviting home
  • Partner with other team members to create an engaging customer experience
  • Consistently meet established sales goals
  • Reinforce customer selections and help them complete their rooms
  • Enter client information into our customer relationship management system and conduct prompt and professional follow-up
  • Explain special financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, and other relevant details to customers
  • Coordinate delivery between customers and our distribution/delivery system
  • Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products

Requirements:

  • Highly driven and self-motivated individual with a strong desire to achieve sales targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to connect and establish relationships with a diverse group of customers
  • College education preferred, high school/GED or equivalent required; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Positive and engaging personality
  • Creative flare and energetic attitude
  • Ability to overcome customer objections
  • Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred, but not required
  • Computer proficiency, including email experience required; knowledge and use of MS Office software preferred; tablet/iPad operation abilities strongly preferred
