Research Scholar Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scholar to join our team at the Northern California Institute for Research and Education. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in the field of HIV and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by the disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring laboratory equipment and procedures for quality control
  • Review and analyze pertinent medical literature to inform research design and execution
  • Design and execute experiments using molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Process and analyze human biological samples, including isolation of cells from blood and tissues
  • Perform molecular biology procedures, including DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and next-generation sequencing
  • Implement, troubleshoot, and optimize new assays and laboratory procedures
  • Assist with training and mentoring of research staff and students
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities and results
  • Present research findings at laboratory, local, and national meetings
Requirements:
  • PhD in a biological science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in laboratory research
  • Strong knowledge of cellular and molecular biology principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
