Job Title: Facility Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Technician to join our team at LADGOV CORPORATION. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our conference and event center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical requirements for events and training held at the conference and event center.
  • Ensure that presentations are functioning properly before events, and maintain effective communication with users to facilitate systems planning and problem resolution.
  • Act as a liaison for classroom scheduling, usage agreements, and user issues.
  • Identify and request necessary resources to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.
  • Plan and direct support for high-level events hosted by various units and agencies.
  • Ensure proper building maintenance and serviceability of all furniture and equipment.
  • Manage the Base Equipment Control Officer (BECO) electronic spreadsheet and maintain accurate records of all classroom and testing room equipment.
  • Serve as the administrator for Facilities Management and ensure effective space utilization and operation of the Base Education & Training facility and classrooms.
  • Perform daily inspections of working conditions of all classroom technology and assist in managing IT requests and projects.
  • Establish and maintain electronic accounts for submitting work orders and managing IT projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience serving as a facility's local point of contact and technical expert for all computer, audiovisual, and lighting requirements for events and training.
  • Associate degree in a related mechanical or electrical field preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for operating a variety of basic computer systems and audiovisual equipment.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in technical equipment, classroom scheduling, facility management, equipment management, and management information systems/audio-visual equipment.
  • Skills to assist, troubleshoot, and instruct individuals with varying skill levels on classroom/technology setup and usage of equipment.
