About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Day Support Professional to join our team in Brockton, MA.

Estimated salary: $25,000 - $35,000 per year.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries, providing support and enabling them to develop and maintain skills that foster personal growth and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Support: Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including toileting, grooming, and repositioning, as well as promoting their independence in daily living activities.
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Independent Living Development: Support individuals in completing ADLs and independent living development tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and safety management.
  • Positive Behavior Supports (PBS): Utilize PBS practices to create a supportive environment, ensuring activities and plans reflect individual preferences, needs, and goals.
  • Nutrition and Safety: Ensure individuals' nutritional needs are met and assist with feeding as necessary, using supportive equipment and health-related protections as prescribed.
  • Community-Based Activities: Assist individuals in planning and implementing community-based activities and group activities within the day program and local community, facilitating skill building and independence.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of three months' experience implementing behavioral support plans and emergency physical interventions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of one year's experience working with individuals with brain injury, developmental, and/or physical disabilities required.
  • Ability to record data using a computer and enter time worked into an electronic system.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of residence preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend materials related to ISP/DHSP, PBS, ADL programs, and individual therapeutic programs.
  • Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with persons served, families, service providers, and funding source personnel.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50/60 pounds depending upon the program.
