Overview of Eliot's Emergency Residence

Eliot's Emergency Residence is a reputable organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for latency-age children referred by the Department of Children and Families. We are seeking an experienced Child Welfare Specialist to join our team in Dedham, MA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily activities with youth, ensuring their safety and well-being in accordance with program and departmental policies.
  • As the lead staff member for assigned shifts, they will provide guidance and support to colleagues while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • The specialist will participate in developing and implementing Individual Action and Crisis Prevention Plans to address the unique needs of each child.
  • Ambitious goals include promoting family engagement, supporting education and career development, and fostering a culture of trauma-informed care within the organization.
Requirements:
  • We seek a high school diploma holder with at least one year of experience working with latency-age children, preferably in a similar residential setting.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong computer literacy skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • A solution-focused problem solver with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain a professional atmosphere.
Benefits:
  • A competitive salary of $38,730 per annum ($19.50/hour), reflecting the overnight shift premium.
