Responsibilities- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of public safety and security protocols and procedures.
- Prevent inappropriate or illegal actions by maintaining high visibility and effective communication with employees and guests.
- Monitor and control access to building entrances, internal doors, and gates, ensuring the security and integrity of our facility.
- Respond to emergency situations, including crisis intervention, evacuation procedures, and first aid.
- Collaborate with employees to promote a "safety first" culture, reporting incidents and near misses in a timely manner.
- Assist in investigations into employee accidents or near misses, and respond to emergency calls after hours.
- Fill out incident or injury reports prior to shift ending, and confirm all injuries must be reported immediately to a supervisor.
- Minimum 21 years old.
- Required 3 years' experience in Safety and Security (Correction, Law enforcement, military) Retired Police or military encouraged to apply.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand for long periods of time.
- Able to run, kneel, crawl, swim, climb stairs, carry equipment like fire extinguisher, evacuation chair, AED, backboard, use hands and arms, talk, hear, and see at distance to observe ongoing situations.
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds regularly, but potentially help evacuate a person.
- Preferred Bilingual Spanish/English.
- No history of any type of assault, violence, or theft on full federal and state background check.
- Display the ideal candidate integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach, calm in chaotic situations, upbeat demeanor, strong attention to detail, and excellent hospitality skills.
- Valid driver's license & dependable vehicle.
- Preferred security certifications and trainings (CPTED, De-escalation, Verbal Judo, Power of Hello).
- Proficient in computer skills, managing security, alarms, and camera software.
- Comfortable working with young children through senior citizens and responding to their different levels of interaction.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office and other required programs on a computer as well as handhelds, and phone.
- Must attend all orientation and training shifts.
- Must complete 90-day probationary period.
- Able to work effectively independently as well as on a team.
- Able to multitask and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Speed, accuracy, and efficiency are required as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work in a loud, distracting environment with flashing lights, haze machines, ongoing shows, and large numbers of guests constantly moving around you.
- Willing to follow procedures and take direction.
- Supportive of other team members.
- Can compete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality work.
- Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, days, late nights, holidays, and special events.
