Position Overview

We are in search of a talented and experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative IT team. This role is essential in managing and enhancing our comprehensive IT ecosystem, which includes multiple office locations and data centers, as well as cloud services like M365 E5 and BIM360.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Oversee and maintain virtual resources, ensuring the effective integration and functionality of system architecture components.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Regularly check event logs for anomalies and proactively resolve potential issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Guarantee the high performance of virtual servers and endpoints across all systems.
  • User Management: Administer user/group accounts and security permissions, implementing and enforcing group policies.
  • Data Center Oversight: Monitor the health of data centers using established management tools.
  • Technical Support: Provide prompt responses to hardware challenges and assist in equipment testing and maintenance.
  • Auditing: Conduct routine audits of all systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Security Implementation: Establish access controls, backups, and firewalls to uphold system security as directed by the Security Manager.
  • Software and Hardware Configuration: Install and set up necessary software and hardware components.
  • Scripting and Automation: Utilize Powershell and API configurations to streamline processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the service desk and other teams to troubleshoot and analyze root causes of issues.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Plan for changes in office infrastructure, including renovations and upgrades.
  • Asset Management: Ensure all infrastructure appliances are under warranty and supported, particularly in server rooms and data centers.
  • System Upgrades: Facilitate seamless upgrades of systems with new releases and models.
  • Future Planning: Develop a roadmap for refreshing appliances within a five-year timeline.
  • Storage Knowledge: Familiarity with storage and backup platforms such as Isilon/Powerscale, Nasuni, and Veeam is advantageous.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of storage/backups, Veeam, Isilon, MS Windows 10/11 desktop, Microsoft 365, and VMware vSphere and Horizon is required.
  • Preferred certifications include Microsoft Azure administration, Microsoft Windows desktop and Server certifications, VMware VCP-DTM, and/or VCP-DCV.
  • Familiarity with various software applications (Adobe CS Suite, Autodesk Products, Bluebeam, Rhino, Sketchup, Jive, V-Ray, MS Teams, Argos, Azure, Microsoft 365 suite of products, PDQ Deploy, and Deltek Vision) is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, meticulous documentation, and innovative problem-solving abilities are crucial.
  • Ability to provide technical resolutions for software, hardware, and network issues in a professional manner.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple technology challenges and prioritizing effectively.
