Public Affairs and Communications Fall Internship

Securing America's Future Energy (SAFE) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fall intern to support its Communications and Public Affairs team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to gain hands-on experience in policy communications and contribute to the advancement of SAFE's mission.
About SAFESAFE is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting transportation, energy, and supply chain policies that enhance the economic and national security of the United States and its allies. Our expert staff works closely with the Energy Security Leadership Council to drive secure, resilient, and sustainable policy solutions.
Responsibilities- Assist with administrative tasks, including press list maintenance, media tracking, and scheduling.
- Manage and enhance our digital infrastructure to ensure robust and up-to-date channels for our content.
- Contribute to the creation and dissemination of compelling content across various digital platforms, infusing policy expertise with creative storytelling to promote our work and initiatives.
- Design and produce engaging visuals, graphics, and multimedia content to elevate our online presence and effectively communicate complex policy issues.
- Track and analyze social media and digital metrics to gauge campaign effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Earned or working towards a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a talent for tailoring content to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools, and digital infrastructure management.
- Analytical skills to interpret digital metrics and translate them into actionable strategies.
- 0-3 years of experience in content creation, digital strategy, social media management, or related fields.
- A passion for and understanding of energy, transportation, or mineral security issues.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and drive forward organizational objectives.
Location: The individual will be based in Washington, D.C. and will work from SAFE's conveniently-located office.
Compensation: $18/hour
