Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and repair of our 128-unit supportive housing residence, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents. This role will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance staff, coordinating work orders, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision:
    • Supervise and direct a team of maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
    • Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities, including electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of repairs and maintenance.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed in a timely and professional manner.
    • Respond to resident concerns and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Manage work orders and maintenance schedules to ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including inventory and supplies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Five years of journey-level general maintenance or contracting experience, including HVAC, carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • At least two years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • A valid NY driver's license and insurability at standard rates.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documentation, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Computer literacy on Microsoft 365 programs, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
