You have the power to shape things and individuals to make them better.Alcoa is currently looking for a motivational leader who can inspire change and make a difference at our Warrick Operations As an Aluminum Plant Supervisor, you will play a large part in the success of work execution and people engagement. This front-line leadership role is responsible for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential, developing and upholding very high standards in safety and production practices while guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals.About the role:The Aluminum Plant Supervisor is responsible for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas. You must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address at-risk behaviors in the workplace. You will set, communicate and implement priorities in alignment with the business objectives of Warrick Operations, the location, and the department of responsibility. This person will mentor and counsel employees and recommend improvement plans while leading and being accountable for the environmental, health, and safety performance and practices of the crew.Provides technical experience and knowledge to production, maintenance, planning, quality, and engineering personnel.Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on standard operating practices and "best practices" for increased performance.Responsibilities range from leading troubleshooting efforts, developing practices, developing process improvements and to enhance productivity.Accountable for traditional administrative tasks of crew leaders.What you can bring to the role:High school diploma or equivalent.2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment.Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required.Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.Requires a progressive thinker who can initiate changeAvailable to work 12 hour rotating shiftsPreferred Qualifications:Associates degree in a technical disciplineSupervisory experience in a union environmentExperience working in a smelterKnowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principlesWhat's On Offer:At Alcoa, our care for people philosophy is backed by our excellent total rewards package that we provide our employees effective on your date of hire, such as:Competitive compensation packages, including pay-for-performance variable pay, recognition and rewards programs401(k), employer match up to 6%, additional employer retirement income contribution (no vesting period)Healthcare benefits: medical, Rx, dental, vision, flexible spending account, health savings account (generous employer contribution), life and accident insuranceWork-life balance programs: flexible work scheduling, hybrid/remote workingPaid time off: 15 vacation days prorated in the 1st year based on hire date, 10 holidays including 1 flexible holiday of your choice, 7 illness days, Care for Family leave up to 40 days, up to 5 bereavement days, maximum of 30 jury duty days, and up to 10 days annual training for military leave*This benefit information applies to US based applicants only.
