Position Overview

The Educational Advisor II for Teacher Certification plays a crucial role in guiding students pursuing workforce and Career and Technical Education (CTE) paths. This position serves as the primary contact for students, providing essential resources and direction throughout their educational journey.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver comprehensive information regarding workforce and CTE awards and associated career paths.
  2. Guide students through the application processes for competitive admission programs.
  3. Assist students in exploring career options, utilizing various career assessment tools.
  4. Advise on course selection and requirements for Teacher Certification programs.
  5. Support students in transferring Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees to bachelor's degree programs.
  6. Provide coaching on developing clear and achievable educational plans.
  7. Monitor and report on student progress, including retention and graduation rates.
  8. Assist students with job search strategies, including resume and cover letter development.
  9. Facilitate connections to resources for interview preparation and job search techniques.
  10. Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance student recruitment and retention efforts.
  11. Maintain professional relationships with students and community stakeholders.
  12. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in workforce education advising.
  • Background in career counseling or advising.
