Research/Clinical Veterinarian Opportunity

Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Division of Comparative Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Research/Clinical Veterinarian to join our team. As a key member of our division, you will provide broad clinical veterinary support across multiple facilities for multiple small and large animal species, depending on your interests and the needs of the division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical veterinary support for animal models and research activities
  • Develop and refine animal models for research purposes
  • Train and mentor postdoctoral fellows, veterinary technicians, and research staff
  • Contribute to the regulatory oversight of animal-related research activities
Requirements:
  • DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or equivalent training with ECFVG certification
  • License to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal training in comparative medicine with diplomate status in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) or European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ECLAM)
  • At least two years' experience practicing or training in veterinary medicine in a research setting
  • Expertise and interest in rodent medicine, management, and surgery
