Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer Associate to join our Sustainability Engineering and Long-Term Planning group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects related to Environmental Sustainability, managing and supporting SacSewer's NPDES permit renewal effort, coordinating with various departments, developing and implementing agreements with external agencies, and providing technical assistance in developing rates and fees.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead projects related to Environmental Sustainability, such as the Organics Program and Biosolids Recycling.
  • Manage and support SacSewer's NPDES permit renewal effort for the EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility.
  • Coordinate with various departments in gathering information to support technical engineering evaluations.
  • Develop, manage, and assist with implementing SacSewer's agreements with external agencies.
  • Provide technical assistance in developing rates and fees for SacSewer.
  • Research and gather technical information to make detailed analyses to support SacSewer's programs.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, memos, and presentations.
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and develop staff.
  • Direct and review the work products of staff.

Requirements:


  • 4+ years of PE experience.
  • Strong experience working with multiple disciplines and departments.
  • General knowledge of environmental sustainability with a strong sustainability mindset.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, IBM Maximo, etc).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Wastewater Experience.
  • Experience with permitting or revenue model and rate fees.
  • Research experience on environment and sustainability.
  • CAD experience.
