Position Overview

As a Compensation Operations Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the payroll processes for a dynamic energy company that delivers electricity and natural gas to millions of customers across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise comprehensive payroll operations for a workforce exceeding 5000 employees across various states.
  • Ensure the precise and timely execution of payroll updates, including onboarding new employees, processing terminations, and adjusting pay rates.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to payroll production effectively.
  • Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage laws, and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by supplying necessary records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements in payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Perform payroll processing tasks as required.
  • Accurately manage wage garnishments, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Prepare and manage reports for senior management and the finance department.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources (HR) and Accounting teams.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, ideally within a large corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing, time management, and familiarity with Oracle HCM and ADP systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of wage garnishments, multi-state payroll, and payroll taxation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
