Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SLPA to join our team for a school-based position in Bay City, TX. The candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide individual and group therapy to students with speech and language disorders.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in conducting speech and language assessments, implement treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication skills. The SLPA will also collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for each student.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in conducting speech and language assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for each student
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed of the latest therapy techniques and best practices
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
  • Active Texas Speech Language Pathology Assistant License
  • Experience working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders preferred
  • Experience with a variety of treatment approaches and modalities, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
