Front Desk Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Front Desk Supervisor to join our team at Staybridge Suites Albany. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and leading a team of Front Desk Associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign work and supervise team member performance in all Front Office procedures, including guest check-in and check-out, lobby traffic and flow, luggage assistance, and telephone answering.
  • Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and maximize room occupancy.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues and complaints in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Support and assist team members in handling guest inquiries and requests and resolving guest complaints.
  • Schedule, assign daily work, lead pre-shift meetings, inform and train team members.
  • Monitor, observe, and assist in evaluating team member performance.
  • Monitor lobby traffic and adjust staffing accordingly.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintains and promotes a positive and cooperative work relationship with all hotel departments.

Requirements:

  • A high school education or equivalent is required, with one to two years' supervisory experience in hospitality or other customer-related position.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • The ability to access, retrieve, and leverage information from the hotel property management system.
  • Ability to handle cash or credit transactions and have Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency.
  • General office equipment and cash register operation knowledge.
