Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective material delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and delivery systems to determine optimal order quantities and assess material availability.
  • Support initiatives to reduce lead times, improve supplier performance, and enhance procurement processes.
  • Review and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment and products.
  • Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Maintain the Qualified Supplier database and perform regular surveys as required.
  • Manage material inventory levels to support production needs and financial targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a Purchasing Certification from a recognized professional organization.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a procurement role purchasing electronic components, preferably in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing company.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office software suite, with emphasis on spreadsheet analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of reliability and dependability, with a sustained commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment

  • Position located in an office environment, with occasional exposure to the manufacturing floor.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, with occasional need to walk up and down stairs.
  • Valid driver's license required for occasional business-related travel.
