Job Title: Mission Planning Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Mission Planning Engineer to join our team of experts in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mission planning architectures, performing hardware/software integration and testing, and certifying requirements analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret, allocate, tailor, write, and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture
  • Design and develop mission planning architectures, perform hardware/software integration and testing, certification, and requirements analysis
  • Trade studies, documenting architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission planning solutions to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
  • Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results, and selection
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted/renewed within the past 6 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Security Clearance (needed to start)
  • Must have and maintain special program access after start of employment
  • Demonstrated experience in mission planning development for military aircraft weapon systems
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)
  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with supplier/subcontract management
  • Experience with scheduling engineering activities
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Active Top Secret clearance
