Job Title: Mission Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Planning Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. This position will be based in Melbourne, FL.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting, allocating, and tailoring requirements to all levels of a system architecture. They will design and develop mission planning architectures, perform hardware/software integration and testing, certification, and requirements analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and allocate requirements to all levels of a system architecture
  • Design and develop mission planning architectures
  • Perform hardware/software integration and testing, certification, and requirements analysis
  • Trade studies, documenting architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission planning solutions to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted/renewed within the past 6 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Security Clearance (needed to start)
  • Demonstrated experience in mission planning development for military aircraft weapon systems
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)
  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
