Overview: The Director of Risk Management plays a pivotal role in assessing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive risk management and insurance strategies to protect the assets and financial performance of Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company, LLC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks to minimize the overall cost of risk for the organization.
- Oversee the services provided by insurance brokers and maintain essential relationships with key risk management vendors to ensure a top-tier risk and insurance program.
- Foster and sustain executive-level partnerships with crucial insurance stakeholders.
- Provide insights and updates to executive leadership regarding significant risk management matters.
- Collaborate with various business units to understand their risk management requirements and strategic objectives.
- Advise on the adequacy and coverage levels of different insurance types.
- Work alongside business partners and insurance brokers to ensure appropriate contract language and policy wording that safeguards the company.
- Engage with risk, insurance, and claims vendors on claims management to lower the total cost of risk.
- Partner with internal teams to promote proactive risk management and safety initiatives, reducing exposure to potential losses.
- Collaborate with actuaries for loss forecasting and analysis of insurance deductibles.
- Stay updated on organizational changes to recommend and implement necessary adjustments to risk and insurance programs.
- Effectively manage claims to resolution through collaboration with claims adjusters, insurers, and legal representatives.
- Oversee broker and insurer relationships to negotiate favorable terms on insurance renewals, pricing, and coverage.
- Lead the Risk Management team in activities including claims management, certificates of insurance, analytics, insurance renewal submissions, and premium payments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, or Business.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in property and casualty risk management and insurance, demonstrating a successful track record in leading complex risk initiatives.
- Professional designations such as ARM or CPCU are highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams.
- Effective reasoning and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Robust analytical skills and a strategic mindset to drive data-informed decision-making.
