We are seeking an experienced River Navigation Leader to join our team at Ingram Barge. As a Master Towing Captain, you will be responsible for safely navigating our vessels through the river, while also driving a high-performance culture onboard.
Key Responsibilities- Safe Navigation: Practice safe crew, vessel, and tow operation using Ingram safety systems and policies.
- Safety Drills and Audits: Participate in regular safety drills and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Leadership and Supervision: Supervise the Mate and Deckhands in consultation with the Captain and shore-based leadership, ensuring safe and efficient vessel navigation.
- Compliance and Regulations: Comply with USCG and environmental laws and regulations, and ensure the crew is doing the same.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrate felt leadership, delegate vessel responsibilities, and assist with crew evaluations and training.
- Tow Operations: Steer tow up and down river, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Leadership and Safety: Demonstrate the Ingram Way, uphold Ingram's high safety standards, and prove leadership abilities.
- Experience and Qualifications: Possess a valid Master of Towing Upon Western Rivers license, a Radar endorsement, and a FCC Radio License.
- Education and Certifications: Hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and be CPR/First Aid, AED Certified.
- Physical Abilities: Be able to climb a ladder and board and ride in a skiff.
