Job Summary

The Environmental Services Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of general and moderately complex cleaning tasks in assigned specialty areas to provide a safe and attractive environment for patients, guests, and staff. This role requires maintaining environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. Additionally, the Specialist will follow Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) standards for turnover and terminal cleaning of procedure rooms.

  • Actively participate in meetings, huddles, and with other team members using positive communication.
  • Promote a positive work environment and contribute to a dynamic team-focused work unit to achieve optimal results.
Essential Functions
  • Responds promptly and positively to requests for assistance with directions and information from patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Promptly responds to all assignments to create an environment that is conducive for healing. Communicates and documents any facility or patient-related issues to management as appropriate.
  • Performs efficient room cleaning processes ensuring timely patient admissions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • DOT/HAZMAT Certification (DOT) within 90 days.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Houston Methodist offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
