Position Summary

The Culinary Event Cook plays a crucial role in ensuring that food is prepared efficiently and safely, adhering to established recipes and guest preferences to deliver exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities

The Culinary Event Cook must possess a solid understanding of food preparation methods and be capable of producing both hot and cold dishes according to approved recipes that meet high standards. This encompasses handling food items from their raw state through to cooking and final presentation for service or display. The Culinary Event Cook is tasked with upholding food safety and sanitation protocols to guarantee that all food is managed in compliance with local health regulations and Craft Culinary Concepts policies. Responsibilities include the proper use of cooking tools and equipment, as well as the storage, labeling, and dating of food products, ensuring that work areas are clean and sanitized.

The Culinary Event Cook will collaborate with a diverse team, each with varying levels of expertise in high-volume kitchen operations, and must be able to work effectively with others to achieve successful outcomes. This includes maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas during and after events, ensuring they are prepared for future use.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid County Food Handler Card, which must be on file with Craft Culinary Concepts.
  • Must be capable of performing mathematical calculations related to recipes.
  • Must be able to comprehend and adhere to specific recipe instructions.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must complete all pre-employment documentation and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Additional Skills and Abilities

  • Preferred current SERV Safe Certification.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to operate in extreme temperature variations and in a noisy environment.
