Project Manager - Engineering Team

Perdue Farms, a family-owned company with a rich history of growth and innovation, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Engineering team in Chesapeake, VA.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned project execution professional to lead the research, development, design, management, and implementation of capital projects that improve manufacturing or maintenance processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of project management techniques, manufacturing technologies, and standard software applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and develop capital projects to improve manufacturing and maintenance processes
  • Manage multiple capital projects with projected scopes ranging from $100k to $25MM, from start-up to completion
  • Implement cost control measures to ensure capital projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Ensure capital projects comply with local, state, and federal safety and environmental laws, regulations, and Company Policies
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of project execution experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and project management techniques
  • Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with standard software applications (Excel, AutoCAD, Word, etc.)
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights, carrying tools and equipment, and exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and chemicals. Travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities, vendors, and customer locations is required.
