Key Responsibilities- Project Administration: Provide project and engineering support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Detachment Norfolk, Combatant Craft Division (NSWCCDDN), Code 83 for key task areas, including design, engineering, and lifecycle tasks/functions.
- Engineering Support: Offer technical support for the following areas: total life cycle technical support, acquisition engineering support, systems engineering technical process support, in-service engineering support, human factors engineering, survivability, environmental effects, reliability and maintainability engineering, boat inventory management, naval architect engineering and design, mechanical engineering and design, electrical and electronic engineering and design, electromagnetic compatibility/emission, proof of design engineering, test and evaluation, and watercraft inspections and checks.
- Project Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Experience: Fifteen years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, or testing of U.S Navy watercraft and watercraft systems and equipment.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of specifications and regulatory requirements (NAVSEA, USCG, ABS).
- Certifications: Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Education: A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Small/High Speed Craft/Boat design experience: Highly preferred.
- Shipyard Experience: Experience working in a shipyard environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Knowledge of Shipboard Installation practices IAW NAVSEA Tech Spec. Knowledge and experience in Acquisition and Systems Engineering, Logistics, Integration, and Test and Evaluation.
