Senior Construction Inspector for Transportation Projects

Mackin Engineers & Consultants is a prominent engineering firm specializing in civil engineering solutions for infrastructure initiatives across the eastern United States. Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Transportation Construction Inspector – Level 3 (TCI-3) to join our team. This role demands significant experience in the field of construction inspection, particularly focused on roadway and bridge projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and related structures, ensuring adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
- Document inspection results and communicate necessary modifications to construction teams and project managers to facilitate timely and accurate project completion.
- Utilize and maintain proficiency with various inspection tools and equipment to accurately assess materials and conditions.
- Oversee and evaluate contractor performance to ensure project objectives are met within established scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance certification levels and professional expertise.
- Travel to diverse project sites as required, managing responsibilities with significant travel commitments.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection.
- A high school diploma is required; an Associate's (AS) or Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Familiarity with Electronic Construction Management Systems (ECMS) and relevant industry standards.
- Knowledge of PennDOT design and construction publications is advantageous.
- Proficient in using Deltek Ajera and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Preferred certifications include: EIT/FE, PE, NICET Highway Construction, NECEPT, PennDOT Concrete/ACI, CDS NextGen, KAHUA, SSPC-C3, NACE Coating Inspector (Level 1, 2, or 3), NASSCO (PACP, MACP, LACP, or ITCP), Nuclear Densometer (Nuke Gage).
