Risk Management Specialist

The Mgr-Insurance & Claims role will oversee risk management and insurance operations, including designing and implementing risk financing and loss mitigation initiatives. This position will interact consistently with all campus departments, financial managers, and leadership to ensure the Institute is pursuing claims initiatives and loss control efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage risk management and insurance operations, including designing and implementing risk financing and loss mitigation initiatives.
- Initiate claims investigations and/or routine monitoring of property and liability loss exposures across the Institute.
- Recommend best practices on a campus-wide basis to address the varied and complex risk concerns inherent to the operations.
- Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
- Supervise assigned staff and provide direction to campus cost centers administrative and financial officers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six or more years of job-related experience - with three or more years supervisory experience.
- Licensed Adjuster - State of Georgia.
- Preferred Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Working knowledge of insurance, risk management and loss control techniques.
- Skills in supervision, office organization and use of business and specialized computer applications.
