Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of the Role:

The individual in this position will operate in an entry-level capacity under the mentorship of more seasoned engineers and colleagues. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring knowledge of Altec's product offerings and the systems, regulations, and processes pertinent to various engineering roles within the organization.
  • Applying sound engineering principles and effectively utilizing formal engineering education to enhance the overall productivity of the Engineering Group and strengthen Altec's market position.
  • Actively participating and contributing positively as a member of Altec's collaborative design, manufacturing, and customer service/support teams.
  • Exercising appropriate entry-level decision-making authority within the scope of assigned tasks.
  • Understanding and implementing fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relevant to the engineering discipline.
  • Engaging with clients regarding technical specifications, product design, and operational inquiries as necessary.
  • Providing technical assistance to sales personnel.
  • Supporting Operations, Sales, and Service departments.
  • Interfacing directly with suppliers and clients.
  • Learning and applying Lean methodologies to enhance our products and processes.
  • Contributing to various Altec projects of varying sizes.
  • Gaining experience across different Altec departments as assigned to develop knowledge and skills for future opportunities within the company.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • EIT registration or the ability to obtain it is required.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, including air travel.
