Job Summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our preschool program, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
    • Support the teacher in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Child Development and Assessment
    • Conduct regular observations and assessments to track children's progress and identify areas for support.
    • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
    • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Administrative and Organizational Tasks
    • Assist with daily administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and preparing reports.
    • Help to maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • Previous experience working with young children in a educational setting preferred.
  • Certifications and Training
    • CPR and first aid certification required.
    • Child development associate (CDA) credential or equivalent preferred.
