Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
As a Maintenance Technician with the Good Samaritan Society, you will be responsible for performing light maintenance repairs and cleaning tasks in a safe and professional manner. This role requires basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to use hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform light maintenance repairs and cleaning tasks under supervision
- Take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas
- Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges
- Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is helpful
- Ability to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
- Must be able to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
- Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code
- Understand written and verbal communications
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances
Additional Duties
Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred
- Depending on location, a valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required
- Depending on location, may be required to take CPR/BLS upon hire
