About the Role

Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in Puerto Rico and LATAM. As a key member of our Tax Department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations in Latin America, primarily supporting Argentina and Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elaborate and supervise tax compliance routines in Latin America, collaborating with the Senior Manager, Tax LATAM on tax requirements such as compliance, reporting, tax accounting, and transfer pricing.
  • Prepare US GAAP tax reporting, provision, and contingency through OneSource (TaxStream tool), working closely with third-party external professionals and promoting close collaborations with shared services centers within the organization.
  • Manage tax inquiries from the Tax Offices mainly located in Argentina & Puerto Rico, ensuring SOX compliance in relation to reporting controls by supporting testing and documentation processes.
  • Identify potential tax compliance issues, perform research, and make recommendations to prevent and resolve tax issues, seeking ways to optimize tax processes and set up compliance procedures.
  • Provide tax support for local business, connecting with the Senior Manager to advise business partners on relevant changes in tax legislations, building a strong network across global tax, finance LATAM, customs, treasury, and legal.
  • Work with the operations team, legal, country controllers, and other stakeholders, staying current with changes in tax laws that could impact the Company's operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field, plus 8 years of combined tax experience in public accounting or a large multinational company with a corporate tax department or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Knowledgeable in Latin America countries, ideally familiar with the tax environment in Argentina and Puerto Rico.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish skills (written, reading, and speaking).
  • Exposure to a large ERP system, in particular SAP and One Source/Tax stream, would be advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Excel functions (pivot tables, macros, filters, etc.).
  • Good understanding of accounting and tax principles; tax return preparation experience a plus.
  • Team player with good collaborative skills, confident in communicating with others, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to deliver accurate documentation and task completion.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Open to receive and provide feedback and keen on continuing to develop within the Organization.
  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations to come up with possible solutions.
  • Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
