We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team at Creative Financial Staffing. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for overseeing multi-state tax elections, calculating income tax provisions, and managing fixed asset accounting.
About the Role:
The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing multi-state PL 86-272 elections and adjusting for economic presence changes with Directors and tax consultants.
- Calculating current and deferred income tax provisions, preparing journal entries, and reconciling tax payables. Collaborating with Finance for year-end balances and reconciliations.
- Managing fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules; integrating tax schedules into SAP.
- Maintaining US Consolidation, investment, and equity roll-forwards. Ensuring proper recording of changes in capital or dividends.
- Reviewing Form 1099s for accuracy and timely filing.
- Updating Transfer Pricing Information annually, preparing Form 5472 and 263A UNICAP calculations.
- Managing federal and state income tax returns, estimates, extensions, and audits.
- Updating Accumulated Earnings and Profits (E&P) for dividends.
State Sales Tax and Tax Reporting:
- Monitoring state tax regulation changes and product profiles. Running and reviewing tax reports, resolving inconsistencies with software providers.
- Participating in monthly industry calls with tax experts to stay informed about remote sales regulations.
- Reviewing state and sales tax returns monthly.
- Handling annual Tangible Personal Property Tax Reporting.
- Staying updated on technological and regulatory changes to enhance innovation and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Public/private mix experience.
- 5+ years at a medium to large firm with US distribution experience (Within the last 5 years).
- Sales & use tax experience & corporate tax.
- Distribution/Manufacture/Retail/Tobacco industry experience is a plus.
Compensation: $120,000-$130,000
