Job Overview

Instruction and Curriculum Development

1. Acknowledge and celebrate the individuality and distinct characteristics of each student.

2. Impart Christian principles through both actions and teachings, ensuring all community members are treated with respect and dignity.

3. Execute a standards-based academic curriculum alongside the religious curriculum as outlined by the Milwaukee Archdiocese.

4. Craft instructional sessions that are informed by current educational research, accommodating diverse learning styles and employing a variety of teaching methodologies.

5. Establish class objectives that foster a positive educational environment, promoting self-esteem, academic advancement, and a sense of accomplishment.

6. Prepare necessary lesson plans and materials to achieve these goals, submitting them as required by school leadership.

7. Evaluate student performance and academic progress through both formal and informal assessments using a range of appropriate evaluation tools.

8. Provide support and/or referrals for students with learning differences.

9. Collaborate with school leadership, parents, and external agencies to address specific student needs.

10. Engage in curriculum development efforts to cater to the diverse needs of students.

11. Organize and oversee field trips and related activities that align with the curriculum.

12. Participate in planning meetings for classroom, grade level, faculty, and school liturgies as assigned, and attend school masses while preparing students for their roles.

13. Order necessary materials and communicate with administrative staff in a timely manner.

14. Supervise students as outlined in the faculty handbook and as directed by school leadership.

15. Complete the online course for the DPI Wisconsin Medication Training program, addressing health concerns relevant to the students taught.

Communication Skills

1. Foster a positive and professional working environment.

2. Collaborate with fellow educators to create curriculum connections and share information regarding student needs and concerns.

3. Maintain communication with parents as necessary and report relevant information to school leadership.

4. Attend scheduled Home and School meetings, Parent Information Nights, concerts, open houses, and other mandatory events.

5. Demonstrate punctuality in fulfilling school responsibilities, administrative requests, and adhering to school hours.

Record Management

1. Maintain daily attendance records.

2. Update grading systems and PowerSchool information on a weekly basis.

3. Prepare student report cards and other essential documentation.

4. Engage in curriculum development tasks.

5. Complete additional record-keeping duties as requested by school leadership, including student data records and behavior documentation.

Professional Development

1. Actively participate in all faculty meetings, level meetings, and professional development experiences.

2. Pursue religion certification as specified by the Office for Schools standards.

3. Maintain Wisconsin state teaching certification or follow an approved study plan leading to certification within a designated timeframe.

4. Develop and pursue a personal professional development plan.

5. Engage in reflective practices to enhance personal and student academic growth.
