Job Overview

Role Responsibilities
The AWS Risk and Resiliency team plays a vital role in datacenter site selection by conducting technical due diligence on potential locations to assess liabilities, site development, and operational risks.

We are seeking an acoustic engineer to perform sound and vibration modeling for future AWS infrastructure, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and evaluating risks to sensitive receivers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all aspects of technical sound assessments and collaborating with team members to meet project timelines.
  • Modeling expected sound levels of datacenter equipment (experience with CadnaA or SoundPLAN is essential) and evaluating vibration on a project-specific basis.
  • Conducting ambient sound level and equipment source measurements using a Type 1 or Type 2 sound level meter.
  • Determining compliance of expected sound and vibration levels with applicable standards and assessing risks to sensitive receivers.
  • Identifying and detailing necessary mitigating measures.
  • Reporting findings and summarizing any identified risks related to project timelines, costs, or feasibility.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience managing confidential information.
  • Experience in defining program requirements and utilizing data and metrics to drive improvements.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:

  • At least 3 years of experience in program requirements definition and data-driven improvement initiatives.
  • A professional auditing qualification or similar credentials in risk or compliance.
  • Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, or risk/loss prevention.

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in lower markets to $142,800/year in higher markets, based on several factors including location and job-related skills.
