Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2024. As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including roadway design, highway and railroad bridge design and rehabilitation, bridge inspection, hydraulic design and analysis, site/civil design, and traffic studies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced Engineers in reviewing and performing calculations, developing design plans, and learning industry software and CADD skills.
  • Participate in bridge inspections and other technical projects.
  • Develop foundational understanding of the consulting engineering business.
  • Apply college course material in a real-world project setting.
  • Assemble engineering calculations in a project setting and apply the quality control process to those calculations.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and material and labor quantities used to estimate project costs.
  • Familiarize yourself with industry and discipline-specific software, including drafting utilizing MicroStation and other Bentley products.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Eager to learn and enthusiastic about the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
