Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses, while promoting a safe and supportive environment for all patients.

About the Position: As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring their health, and communicating effectively with healthcare staff. You will work closely with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans that cater to each patient's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care services, including basic hygiene, bathing, and feeding functions.
  • Obtain vital signs and document findings accurately.
  • Communicate relevant information to healthcare staff in a timely manner.


Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED and hold current South Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Patient Care Technician certification. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you must be able to stand for up to 12 hours, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and smell. Furthermore, you must be able to lift or exert energy up to 35 pounds.
